When people find yourself trying to figure out a way to get rid of toenail or fingernail fungus they often begin by simply searching site after site on the internet. While they can find good information there they will also be mislead on their journey. When it comes to your health you must find the truth and not allow yourself to be scammed.
Oftentimes you are led to believe some things that are written only to convince you to buy a product that will make the marketer the largest commission without regard to what the product will do for you. There are some misconceptions that run around on the internet regarding nail fungus. Some of the most prevalent are the following:
MISCONCEPTION #1. THERE ARE QUICK, EASY TREATMENTS FOR NAIL FUNGUS.
As much as you want to believe that lie and as many times as it is put into the headlines of a product's website, it is just that; it is a lie. Nail fungus is almost always quite difficult to get rid of. There are no silver bullets that will make it disappear in a day, a week or even a month. Sure, you should see some dramatic difference within the first few days after beginning treatment but if quit treatment before it is totally gone it will return and the second time it can be worse. One of the reasons for this is because fungus is a systemic problem that is not just under the surface of your skin or nail but it is oftentimes many layers deep in your flesh. All of the treatments recommend, whether they are pharmaceutical or natural, that you continue treatment for at least 3-4 months and most recommend 6 months. There is a reason for that and it is called clinical testing (we'll call it experience). The difference between success and failure in getting rid of nail fungus is most often related to inconsistency in the frequency of treatment and/or quitting treatment too soon.
MISCONCEPTION #2- PRESCRIPTION CREMES ARE THE BEST TREATMENTS
Using a pharmaceutical prescription cream or a strong over the counter gel might appear on the surface to be the best treatment but that is most often not the case. Fighting fungus externally is often not enough but only certain types of internal medications or treatment are safe without threat to your liver and other internal organs. The treatments that perform the best are the ones that penetrate the hard surface of the nail to get to the fungus and there aren't many treatments that do that very well.
MISCONCEPTION #3 - THERE IS NO CURE FOR NAIL FUNGUS.
Your body was created to heal itself naturally. If your immune system is up to par the process of gaining healthy nails after nail fungus is much faster and totally achievable. Nail fungus sufferers that have the best results in killing fungus realize that fungus is a systemic, whole body issue and fight it. When you realize where fungus comes from and fight accordingly there are definitely cures. Don't let this misconception that is propagaged on the internet leave people hopeless. There IS cure for nail fungus but you just must realize it will most likely take longer than you wish it would. Just be consistent and it will pay off. You can have healthy nails again.
MISCONCEPTION #4 - POOR HYGINE IS WHAT CAUSES NAIL FUNGUS
Nail fungus creates an unhealthy, unsightly, dirty looking appearance to the nail. Fungus is caused by a damp atmosphere and is often contracted after coming in contact with others who have had it too. Locker rooms, showers, and spas can be breeding grounds for fungus but simply washing won't make it go away. It enters tiny cracks and cuts in feet or hands often caused by hard sport workouts and washing simply won't get it out once infected.
MISCONCEPTION #5 - HOME REMEDIES WORK WELL FOR EVERYONE
What brings healing to one person may not to another due to many factors. What you find online is often unsubstantiated testimonials from people who have done no test or clinical trials at all and their claims to success are simply false hope. Natural treatments are often given bad press but more often than not home remedies work well if they were done consistently.
The bottom line is that there are many different treatments that work differently for many different situations. It takes some research to find the one that fits your circumstance the best. A good honest review page with clinical testing data is worth much more than hours and hours of often futile browsing on the internet. One such site is http://end-nail-fungus-now.com
