6. Toenail and Nail Fungus Treatment from funguscream.com seems to sell well and makes good medical sense in its makeup. We have, however, not personally tested it so cannot make a recommendation one way or the other. It uses Ozone as one of its active ingredients. Ozone is basically a high level of oxygen which is known to be anti-fungal and very good for your cellular structure. Lack of oxygen is known to cause disease of many kinds in the human body so this will be one treatment we will study and report on soon.

7. Toenail Therapy from medpure.com is a medicinal anti-fungal that uses a two step process to attempt the cure. The user first applies an anti-fungal agent to the nail to penetrate the surface thus preparing the nail for a much stronger lacquer base chemical treatment. It is quite expensive and is not a natural substance. The active ingredient is Miconazole.

8. Pedi-Cure from aidanceproducts.com is made by Aidance All Natural Skin Care Products. The ingredients for this product are somewhat different than the normal essential oils based products. The main ingredient is what the company calls "Electron-Active Silver Oxide" which is a combination of silver and oxygen, both known to be very anti-fungal in nature. All ingredients are 100% natural and chemical free. Our only concern with this product is that is seems generically formulated to where one formula fits all sorts of different maladies. It may work well but we have been unable to test this at the present time.

9. AntiNailFungus-Rx from naturespharma.org is a 100% natural and organic product. This is our next product to test because it has an added ingredient that causes it to penetrate the cell membranes better than most according to the manufacturer. This deep penetration is what speeds up or delays the killing of spores that keep the fungus growing. The testimonials seem to agree with a faster remedy than most products so we will try this and update this report as results are available.

10.Deggurcide from deggurcide.com is a product created by a doctor from Indiana who seems to be honest and knowledgeable. The product has two anti-fungal agents, one debrittling agent and one nail softening agent. The blend of these three seems to be a very effective approach. He doesn't claim things that can't happen like many do and this is one of the products we will soon be testing with more volunteers.

11.FungiCure from aragonproducts.com is a medicinal product with an active ingredient of 1% Clotrimazole. It is sold under the name FungiCure with pictures of fingernails and toenails on the box but if you read the fine print it actually says that "This product is not effective on scalp or nails". The product is intended to be used for the treatment of ringworm, athlete's foot but not fingernail or toenail fungus. This is one product to avoid if nail fungus is your issue.

12.NailFungusCare from purehealing-us.com is a 100% certified organic essential oils based formula with great ingredients and a good following. We have not tried this product personally but have reports of numerous people who are pleased with their results. The company claims a high success rate and they have a very good return policy. The main red flag for us on this product is that they seem to have basically the same active ingredients for many different products from warts to fungus to skin tags and just package them a bit different and sell them for different purposes. That makes us wonder. Without trying it personally we cannot recommend either for or against this product.

HOME REMEDIES PEOPLE USE

13. Tea Tree Oil is an essential oil that is in most botanical remedy treatment preparations as one of many ingredients. The use of it as a lone treatment has not been proven to be very effective in our experience.

14. Oregano Oil is known to have anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-parasitical, antiseptic, anti-viral and analgesic properties. Because of this is it used in some, but not most, of the anti-fungal treatments and ointments.

15. Oregano Oil and Olive Oil mixed has been recommended by some but reviews are mixed to say the least. Many say the mixture actually made their fungus problem get worse.

16. Listerine is often recommended as a home remedy for nail fungus. While mild cases of nail fungus have been known to be affected by the anti-bacterial properties in Listerine or other mouthwashes, there are no ingredients in mouthwash that cause penetration into nail bed tissue that is required to eliminate more severe cases.

17. Vinegar is often recommended by the home remedy crowd for a treatment against nail fungus and is actually quite effective in inhibiting the growth of new fungus. It, however, does not kill the fungus that is already there. This treatment relies on the user to be 100%+ consistent and NEVER miss a day or the new nail growth will become infected and you have to start all over again. The reason for the recommendation of vinegar is that it acts as a neutralizer for the fungus growth by changing the pH balance of the affected area when soaked in it. Some suggest using only certain types and brands of apple cider vinegar while others say only white vinegar will work. What you have to remember for this home remedy is the requirement to be totally consistent for up to a full year. The results of this have not been very promising simply because it is so hard to be that consistent for most people. The long soaking process that has to be repeated twice daily is also difficult to achieve.

18. Vicks Vapor Rub is a very often recommended home remedy for nail fungus. The idea behind using it as a fungus cure is that the Eucalyptus in the Vicks, if rubbed on the infected area several times per day will eventually penetrate the tissue and acts as the anti-fungal ingredient. Our experience and reports from this remedy are that it takes very consistent and constant use for a very long period of time before any results are seen.

19. Beer is sometimes recommended as a way to neutralize fungus growth. It actually does inhibit new growth but does not kill what is already there. This is not a viable option in our opinion.

20. Hydrogen Peroxide (3%) has been used by many people to disinfect their toenails and supposedly help them get rid of nail fungus. Oxygen-rich environments are deadly to disease of any kind so it makes physiological sense but the problem with this treatment most commonly reported is sensitivity of the skin near the treated areas after a short time of use.

21. Lemongrass Essential Oil has anti-fungal properties and for that reason is used by some as a home remedy treatment for nail fungus. This essential oil is one of the active ingredients in many of the manufactured nail fungus treatment products but they add other ingredients with the Lemongrass Oil to make it more powerful and effective.

AVAILABLE OVER-THE-COUNTER

22. Lamisil is a pharmaceutical, over the counter cream that is often recommended by pharmacists and prescribed by doctors. It is made by Novartis Laboratory and is actually the leading anti-fungal prescription in the world. The active ingredient is Terbinafine which is designed to travel to the infected area through your bloodstream to kill the fungus spores and allow new growth to heal over time. The biggest issue with this drug is the risk of liver problems. The doctor will require a blood test after one month of use to make sure. It can cost well over $150 for a 1 month supply and treatments are recommended for between 3 and 6 months depending on the severity of the case. Add this to the required blood test and this treatment cost is into the hundreds of dollars. While the treatment is reported to work most of the time, it is our very strong recommendation that the risk is not worth it since there are perfectly natural treatments with no side affects that work just as well.

23. Saprox Nail Fungus Treatment is an over the counter cream that is made from natural clay from the bed of a lake where minerals and plant sterols are found abundantly. It does not have any essential oils or waxes in it like most anti-fungal products on the market today. The sulphur and the algae in the decomposed lake bed material are two of the active ingredients in Saprox but there are report that these sometimes irritate user's skin where the product is used.

24. Fungus Fix is an over the counter product made by OPI which is one of the leading nail care product manufacturers in America. Fungus Fix is often recommended by the manicure or pedicure specialist if they think nail fungus is beginning in their clients. It is a natural blend of ingredients without the chemicals some products have in them. We have not had experience with this treatment so recommendations are not for or against it at this time.

25. Mycocide NS is a pharmaceutical grade drug product that uses Tolnaftate as its main active ingredient. The list of chemicals in this product is lengthy. It can be found both on the internet and over the counter in drug stores. Numerous warnings on the product include not using it while pregnant or nursing. Looking at the list of chemicals in it our personal bent is against this type of product. If you are not wary of pharmaceutical products this may be an option for you. The product does recommend up to 6 months of use before the fungus will disappear.

26. NailTek Antifungal is an over the counter antifungal solution made by a nail care product manufacturer. The active ingredient in the product is Miconazole Nitrate which is known to inhibit new fungus growth but has not been known to kill entrenched cases of nail fungus. With products that use this approach the only hope for cure is to be totally consistent, file old nail fungus off and simply wait for new growth to come. If you don’t' keep the product on the new growth very religiously the fungus will spread to the new growth and you have not helped anything a bit.

EBOOKS AVAILABLE ONLINE

27. Nail That Fungus Forever (click on reviews tab at the top)

28. How To Get Rid of Toenail Fungus at ToeNailFungusCure.org is very similar to the Nail That Fungus Forever ebook. It is the same information in a little different format and writing style. Again, if you have what it takes to stay 100% consistent for a long period of time and are cash poor, this might be for you.

29. How I Permanently and Safely Cured My Athlet's Foot and Jock Itch in Under 7 Days at CureYourAthletesFoot.com supplies information similar to other nail fungus eBooks but his remedies are more geared toward athlete's foot and jock itch than they are for nail fungus. He just believes that if you remedy one the other will follow.

AVAILABLE BY PRESCRIPTION ONLY

30. Sporanox is a very powerful prescription drug that is often prescribed by doctors to fight fingernail or toenail fungus. It also goes by the generic name Itraconazole. It has not been seen to be any faster than other non-prescription drugs but carries with it possible side affects including nausea, diarrhea, skin rashes, and liver enzyme abnormalities so it is never recommended for use outside the care of a healthcare professional.
